Photo: Good news from Canadian Orebodies in Sanikiluaq

Good news came this week from Canadian Orebodies Inc., which has run an “aggressive exploration program” this summer on Flaherty Island, in the Belcher Islands, where its Haig Inlet property covers 14,180 hectares. The first set of drill results reported from the ongoing drill program there show a grade of 29.2 per cent iron — a higher grade than the company expected to find. Iron ore deposits of this type, which can be easily shipped out, are in high demand, and the company is fast-tracking the development of the Haig Inlet iron deposit of about 907 million tonnes. Its camp of about 40, show here, includes eight Inuit workers from Sanikiluaq. (PHOTO COURTESY OF CANADIAN OREBODIES INC.)
