Greenpeace activists in a zodiac approach the Akademik Lazarev Aug. 13 as the vessel starts seismic testing in Arctic waters off Russia. The confrontation between activists and crew members on board the vessel leased by the Russian oil giant Rosneft is the latest in Greenpeace’s efforts to halt Arctic oil and gas exploration involving seismic testing and drilling.
