Photo: Happy Canada Day Iqalungmiut!

There’s no ice in sight while Iqaluit’s first Zamboni takes a spin around town for the Canada Day parade. Canada Day in Iqaluit clocked in at a balmy 17 C as people in shorts and T-shirts came out to participate in, and enjoy, the parade which included a Pride float to celebrate gender diversity in Nunavut’s capital. The day began with a fun run at Sylvia Grinnell Territoral Park and a pancake breakfast and then residents were treated to games, great food and music including Joel Plaskett and the Emergency, Iqaluit’s The Trade-Offs and singer-songwriter Kelly Fraser.
