Photo: High Arctic community welcomes first cruise ship

The 70-metre long Archimedes, a private American yacht, pulls into Arctic Bay early July 28—the first cruise ship of the season to arrive in the High Arctic community. Archimedes is owned by U.S. businessman James Simmons, but operated this summer by EYOS Expeditions, which is hosting 12 guests on a month-long tour of heritage sites in the Arctic, including the remains of the Franklin expedition.
