Award-winning Igloolik filmmaker Zacharias Kunuk poses with Hollywood actor and climate change activist Emma Thompson at Berlinale, the Berlin International Film Festival, which ran Feb. 11 to Feb. 16. Kunuk, attending the Berlinale to screen his 2010 documentary “Qapirangajuq: Inuit Knowledge and Climate Change,” had been invited to an dinner attended by directors, actors and other industry types when a festival host pulled Kunuk aside to introduce him to Thompson. “She was sincere,” Kunuk said, now back home in Igloolik. “She asked good questions.” Read more later about Kunuk’s adventures, and highjinx, in the capital of Germany later on Nunatsiaqonline.ca.
