Wondering what you’re looking at? That’s a sled dog on a lead, curled up asleep and caked in snow April 10 as a blizzard rages along the Ungava coast. Nunavik’s Ivakkak racers stayed put in Tasiujaq all weekend to wait out the storm, while team 4, mushers Billy Cain and his son Charlie, decided to drop out of the race. The remaining 11 dog sled teams are expected to leave Tasiujaq the morning of April 11 on the final stretch of the race, towards Ivakkak’s finish line in Kuujjuaq.
