Hurray for summer! Kuujjuaq children, aged 5-12, began day camp this week now that school’s out for summer. The camp is at capacity this year with 70 children registered and a waiting list for others. It runs every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and ends August 8. Days are spent in the municipal pool and, weather permitting, in outdoor activities such as hiking, playing sports and games and going to the beach. Day campers will be treated to a talent show, barbecue and sleepover on the last night, August 7. (PHOTO BY ISABELLE DUBOIS)
