Photo: “Inuit modern” in Montreal

During the International Polar Year conference in Montreal, many Arctic-themed exhibitions can be found in the city, including the “Modern Inuit” exhibition at the McCord Museum in Montreal, which includes this carving called “Woman holding braids” by Quvianatuliak Takpaungai. The exhibition features 138 works created by nearly 75 artists, including David Ruben Piqtoukun, Kenojuak Ashevak, Karoo Ashevak, Annie Pootoogook and Lucy Tasseor.
