Iqaluit RCMP members confer with each other outside house 2200 on Apex Road just before 10:00 a.m. Feb. 17, following the peaceful resolution of what they call a “firearms-related incident” In which police took a number of long guns out of house 2200. A source later told Nunatsiaq News that someone in the house became frightened when two people temporarily staying there got into an argument, then called police to ask them to remove any firearms. The regular occupants of the house were out of town at the time. A large section of the Apex Road, including an area close to Joamie School, had been closed to traffic. All barriers were now removed just before 10 a.m. (PHOTO BY JIM BELL)
