Residents of the new Creekside apartments in Iqaluit woke up to mangled roofs and toppled garbage sheds in their backyards Jan. 8, following a violent blizzard that swept through the southern Baffin region Jan. 7. The weather in Iqaluit is mild today: -17C with light winds and a mix of sun and cloud. As of 3:30 p.m. Jan. 8, a blizzard warning was still in effect for Coral Harbour.
