By SPECIAL TO NUNATSIAQ NEWS

The fresh, green lettuce on these sandwiches, prepared for residents at the YWCA shelter in Iqaluit, was home-grown at the Iqaluit Community Greenhouse, whose members have donated some of their harvest of vegetables to the city's shelter, soup kitchen and other organizations. If you want to help out the society and learn more about the greenhouse, the greenhouse society's members will hold a bake sale and offer greenhouse tours Aug. 3, starting at about 11 a.m. For more information or to donate baked goods, contact the greenhouse society at iqaluitgreenhouse@yahoo.ca.
