Photo: Iqaluit pays tribute to volunteers

Naiome Eegeesiak, left, and the city of Iqaluit's recreation co-ordinator Jeremy Debicki, enjoy burgers and pasta salad at the city's annual volunteer appreciation event June 4 at the Arctic Winter Games Arena in Iqaluit. Eegeesiak was recognized in the arts and culture category for her work with the Iqaluit Music Society teaching kids how to play the fiddle. She was one of six people and organizations singled out for recognition this year including Wanda Joy, Sarah Maniapik, Manu Kunuk, Kerry McCluskey and the Iqaluit Amateur Hockey Association.
