Grade 7 students from Aqsarniit Middle School in Iqaluit recently graduated from the Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or D.A.R.E. program offered by the RCMP. About 80 students participated in the nine-lesson program this past spring, which teaches students how to recognize different kinds of narcotics, the effects of their use and positive alternatives to substance abuse and violence. If you would like to see the D.A.R.E Program delivered in your community, please contact your local RCMP Detachment or the Divisional Drug Awareness officer at (867) 975-4787.
