Hoyt has “improved and increased services to the community of Iqaluit and significantly increased literacy-based programs to include all of Nunavut’s official languages and all age groups from infant to adult,” said a statement from the Government of Nunavut. The award is given to each province and territory. Hoyt, who first moved to Nunavut in 2001, holds a master’s in library and information studies from Dalhousie University. (PHOTO COURTESY OF THE GN)
