Now the fun will go on all summer, rain or shine: Iqaluit's deputy mayor Simon Nattaq waves happily at the May 19 inauguration of the new artificial turf at the Arctic Winter Games arena. Sport Nunavut donated $66,000 for the turf, which will see activities rugby, frisbee, lacrosse, field hockey and soccer, recreation organizer Michel Rheault said. “Soccer is definitely a major sport in the territory,” he said. “By having a recreational sports field in this complex we can actually maximize our programming.”  Groups will also be able to rent the new turf.
