Bartolomy Nirlungayuk sings Aug. 26 at the end of a summit on the unification of the Inuktut writing system in Iqaluit where, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami says, participants agreed to recommend that jurisdictions formally explore the implementation of an Inuit writing system rooted in a standardized form of Roman orthography. This would be developed by Inuit for Inuit and introduced through the education system with quality materials and training resources, ITK said.
