Photo: Ivakkak 2013 starts off March 18

The mushers of one of the 15 teams participating in the 12th edition of Nunavik’s dog team race prepares for the race’s March 18 departure from Kuujjuaraapik on the Hudson Bay coast. The teams and their 180 dogs have now left Kuujjuaraapik on a 632-kilometre journey, which will lead them by the communities of Umiujaq and Inukjuak. The race ends in Puvirnituq.
