Sergei Khudi, a 17-year-old reindeer herder from Yamal, obliterates his competition March 9 in the Arctic Winter Games’ open male sledge jump with 350 completed attempts, continuing the long trend of Yamal dominance in the discipline. While it secured Khudi the gold ulu with ease, he’s still a long way off from winter games record holder and past teammate, Rodin Roaldovich Taligin who completed 830 jumps in the 2006 Alaska games.The next best sledger was silver medalist Denis Longortov, also from Yamal, with 240 jumps.
