Alacie Joamie of Iqaluit greets federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau’s seven-year-old son, Xavier, at a community feast held Jan. 12 at Nakasuk School, while Jack Anawak, a former Liberal MP for Nunavut, looks on. The feast, attended by more than 150 people, was the first public event of Trudeau’s visit to Iqaluit, which was to include a meet-and-greet at the francophone centre and a visit to the soup kitchen on Jan. 13.
