Hilda Snowball, 25, is the new mayor of Kangiqsuallujjuaq after winning with an 80 per cent majority from voters in the Ungava Bay community in Nunavik, where there was a 54.2 per cent voter turn-out Nov. 7. The turn-out varied between a low of 44.7 per cent in Kuujjuaq and more than 60 per cent in other communities for the region’s municipal elections.
