Photo: Keith Peterson a big winner in Cambridge Bay

Keith Peterson, Cambridge Bay’s newly-elected incumbent, speaks at an Oct. 15 debate in Cambridge Bay. Peterson was returned to office by a wide margin in Cambridge Bay Oct. 28. The Nunavut finance minister received 443 votes, more than any other candidate in the territory and three times more than the runner-up candidate, Fred Pedersen. Representation across the Kitikmeot region stayed largely the same, with Peter Taptuna acclaimed in Kugluktuk and Jeannie Ugyuk acclaimed in Netsilik. The only change was in Gjoa Haven, where voters elected Tony Akoak. (PHOTO BY RED SUN PRODUCTIONS)
