Pierre Arcand, Quebec's minister of sustainable development, environment and parks, presents a Phénix de l’environnement award, the province's top environmental award, to Nancy Dea, the co-ordinator of the Kativik Regional Government's clean-up project of abandoned mineral exploration sites, May 24 at the National Assembly in Quebec City. Between 2005 and 2011, the KRG cleaned up sites which needed major remediation work. Over the next five years, the project will expand to include other sites requiring clean-up.
