Blizzard conditions around Kuujjuaq have meant cancelled flights and closed schools, but it didn`t stop young athletes from competing in the Arctic Winter Games trials held over the weekend. Here, Kuujjuaq athlete Sianna Gordon, left, and her opponent Allison Thoamssie from Kangirsuk, braved the snow and wind Nov. 23 to compete in the junior female finals of the Dene Games log push, sometimes known as pole push.
