Photo: Language conference opens with a book launch

Published by Laval university in Quebec City and the Nunavut Research Institute, in partnership with Nunavut’s departments of Education and Culture and Heritage, the academic book describes the state of the Inuit language in Inuit communities throughout northern Canada and Greenland. The week-long conference, Feb. 23 to Feb. 26, featured presentations on the status, history and importance of Inuktut today, and its role in promoting social and cultural well-being for Inuit.
