Photo: Laugh until you cry in Iqaluit

Iqaluit’s best jokesters and storytellers took to the stage at the Francophone Centre Oct. 30 for the Mahaha comedy open mic presented by Asukuluk Entertainment. Okalik Curley, above, had the audience in tears when she read passages from Fun With Dick and Jane to the tune of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues.” Other talented Iqalungmiut also braved the microphone with embarrassing stories and hilarious encounters including Wade Thorhaug, Bibi Bilodottir, Franco Buscemi, Nicole Etitiq and even Polarman, whose bit about ordering take-out from The Snack, while sitting in The Snack, was a true crowd pleaser.
