Laura Merritt (centre) poses with Dr. James McNinch, the Dean of Education at the University of Regina, and Dr. Michael Tymchak of the Saskatchewan Instructional Development and Research Unit, after receiving the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Prize as the “most outstanding education graduate” Oct. 20 at the university’s fall convocation. The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Prize is the highest honour awarded to a member of a graduating class, receiving a Bachelor of Education degree. This past June, Merritt also received the Nunavut Teachers Association award for top academic performance in the Bachelor of Education program for Nunavut as well as the teaching practicum award for the Kivalliq region.
