Nellie Taptaqut Kusugak, Commissioner of Nunavut, released the following statement Sept. 9, honouring the Queen’s 63 years on the throne. “On behalf of all Nunavummiut, I would like to congratulate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II today on becoming the longest-reigning monarch, after more than 63 years on the throne. Nunavummiut have always been happy to welcome the Queen on her visits to Nunavut and the Arctic. For more than six decades she has dedicated her life to the service of the Commonwealth of Nations. May she be blessed with good health so her reign may continue for many more years.” (FILE PHOTO)
