Photo: Looking good, for a good cause

Students at Joamie elementary school in Iqaluit pose for a photo booth fundraiser held May 20, along with other events at the school to raise money to help those who lost their homes in the Fort McMurray wildfire. Their efforts raised more than $4,000. Also this past weekend in Iqaluit: A fundraiser at the Elks club, which between the 50/50 and cover charge at the door, raised $3,125. This amount was matched by the NCC and NCCD for a total amount of $6,250 – which was then matched by Northview, bringing the total to $12,500 donated to the Red Cross Alberta fire relief fund, according to information from the Iqaluit Public Service Facebook page.
