By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

UPDATE: Most of Iqaluit REMAINS SHUT DOWN Feb. 13 due to a water main break at Inuksuk High School that occurred around midnight. The city says all non-essential services are closed and that all residents should not use water unless they have to. Residents are asked to listen to the radio for more information and to stand by. Flooding has occurred between the high school and the breakwater. Arif Sayani of the City of Iqaluit said on CBC Radio at around 6:00 a.m. Jan. 12 that the city isn't producing water fast enough to keep up with demand and that only about two hours' worth was left at that time. In this picture, City of Iqaluit workers build snow walls to contain flooding from the creek that flows down to the breakwater area. As of about 7:00 a.m. Jan. 13, water still appeared to be flowing down the creek from the Inuksuk High School area. (PHOTO BY JIM BELL)
