Makivik Corp. President Charlie Watt addresses the organization’s 40th anniversary celebrations in Kuujjuaq on Wednesday, Nov. 14, to mark four decades since Nunavik Inuit signed the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement. “I want you to remember and to get used to this word: homeland,” Watt told the crowd. “Because we’re going to be using that word starting in the new year, including home rule, like Greenland’s home rule government.
