Iqaluit RCMP members with an unidentified man they detained after firefighters extinguished a blaze in a shed behind building 2017 in the West 40 area of Iqaluit May 11. The man's connection to the fire is not clear. Flames engulfed the shed a little after 2 p.m. that afternoon and smoke was visible from as far away as the Plateau subdivision. Iqaluit firefighting crews left the scene at around 2:35 p.m. There was smoke and fire damage to the outside of the property at the rear of the house, but no significant damage to the building.
