Photo: March is still a lion in the Kitikmeot

Getting into Kullik Ilihakvik elementary school in Cambridge Bay is going to be a chore considering the front entrance is buried in snow. An army of March storms has been pummelling the Kivalliq and Kitikmeot regions of Nunavut for the past few days. Stores and schools in Cambridge Bay have been shut down for a second day as residents in that western hamlet wait out the wind and snow. It was -38C with the windchill in Cambridge Bay on the morning of March 18. Environment Canada was calling for an end the blizzard, which did abate and schools were set to re-open at 1 p.m. (PHOTO BY KELCEY WRIGHT)
