Quebec Premier Pauline Marois takes a moment to chat with Kativik Regional Government chairperson Maggie Emudluk at the Kuujjuaq airport on Sept. 12. Marois and a group of her ministers and staff met with Nunavik leaders Sept. 12. “Our presence in Nunavik will fulfill the commitment of my government to make aboriginal issues a government priority. Much has been accomplished in recent months, and we intend to continue these nation-to-nation exchanges with Inuit to improve their quality of life,” Marois said in a Sept. 12 Quebec government news release. On Sept. 13, after making some early-morning announcements in Kuujjuaq, Marois and her delegation travel to Kangiqsualujjuaq to visit the Kuururjuaq provincial park and officially open its interpretation centre. Read more later on Nunatsiaqonline.ca about the visit from Nunatsiaq News reporter Sarah Rogers, who will be accompanying Marois on her tour.
