More melting lies ahead for the Arctic, according to a new report from Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, “Climate Change 2013: the Physical Science Basis,” released Sept. 27 in Stockholm. Sweden. Compiled with data from 800 scientists, 9,200 research papers, 54,000 comments from 1,000 experts from 55 countries, the report confirms human activity will further warm the planet, with “dramatic effects” on weather, sea-levels and the Arctic. At a news conference, Thomas Stocker, the co-chair of the working group, said the report details “unprecedented trends in the melting” of the Arctic.
