Photo: Narwhals on the move

This screen grab from the television network in Murmansk, Russia shows a narwhal spotted during the four-month Russian North Pole-2015 expedition, which took place on an ice floe near the North Pole. Zoologist Vladimir Tushkevitch has said the narwhal-sighting was a “real scientific discovery” because narwhals do not generally travel so far north. ”I stood on the observation tower with a camera and then appeared the whales — male and female,” Tushkevitch was quoted as saying in the Siberian Times after the expedition arrived back in Murmansk.
