First responders in Kangirsuk pose in front of their community's new ambulance, one of nine new vehicles across Nunavik thanks to a $1.9 million investment through Quebec’s Ministry of Health. The new vehicles are adapted to the North, with four-wheel drive and larger, heated compartments. Kangiqsujuaq, Salluit, Inukjuak, Akulivik, Umiujaq, Quaqtaq, Kangiqsualujjuaq, Kangirsuk, and Puvirnituq received the new vehicles this month, while Ivujivik, Aupaluk, Tasiujaq and Kuujjuaq are expected to receive new vehicles by 2019.
