New and old: kids walk by one of the igloos built April 13 as part of the Toonik Tyme festival's competitions in Iqaluit. “Iqaluit Idol,” a local talent competition, takes place April 13 the curling rink, starting at 6 p.m. April 14, a traditional dog team race is set to start out from the sea ice at 10 a.m., with an ice sculpting contest and a free noon BBQ in front of the V Division RCMP detachment building.
