By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Dr. Françoise Bouchard, pictured here in Kativik Regional Government meetings this past winter, has been named as the new director of public health at the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services. Bouchard is not new to the role; she’s served as interim director since February, to replace the organization’s outgoing director Serge Déry. Bouchard served as a general practitioner in Cree and Inuit communities for many years, before pursuing a master’s degree in public health from Harvard University. Bouchard’s current term as director runs until July 7, 2018. The NRBHSS also announced this week that its executive director, Minnie Grey, is back at work July 11 after a three week-long personal leave. (FILE PHOTO)
