By SPECIAL TO NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Under sunny skies, a Rankin Inlet Hamlet crew works on laying a new artificial turf for the community's outdoor soccer field, which schools and recreational groups use daily. The money for the new turf came from local fundraising efforts and and support from Sport Nunavut programs. Similar artificial grass-like fields are found inside the Kugluktuk recreational complex and the Arctic Winter Games arena in Iqaluit. (PHOTO BY DOUG MCLARTY/ ARCTEC DESIGN AND SERVICES)
