Ships containing the materials to build the first 74 new two-bedroom housing units in Nunavik under Quebec’s Plan Nord — which promised last May to deliver 300 new social housing units to the region from 2012 to 2015 — left Valleyfield last week. The materials will arrive in Puvirnituq and Kuujjuaq later this month, an Oct. 7 Quebec government news release said.
