Sixteen first year Nunavut Sivuniksavut students head off to Norway April 27 to begin a 12-day cross-cultural visit with the Saami of northern Norway. They'll spend two days in Oslo, visiting the Norwegian parliament and the Fram Museum, devoted to Norway's history of Arctic exploration. Then they'll go north, first to Tromsø, and then to Karasjok and Kautokeino, where Saami culture is the strongest. They'll be hosted by the Saami Parliament and meet with Saami youth groups.
