Firefighters and first responders rush to deal with a simulated air crash in Kangiqsualujjuaq on Oct. 12. The Kativik Regional Government and Transport Quebec held the air crash exercise to test the readiness of first responders in this Ungava Bay community. The simulation also involved about 10 youth who pretended to be injured crew and passengers. During the simulation some firefighters put out a fire on the “crash site,” while other firefighters and first responders delivered first aid to the “injured.” (PHOTO BY PASCAL POULIN)
