Photo: Nunavik land claim documentary nears completion

This illustrated scene depicting Nunavik negotiators at the table with the Quebec government in the early 1970s appears in the new documentary called Napagunnaqullisi, or So That You Can Stand, which revisits the creation of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement. The 90 minute film, produced by Makivik Corp., is set to premiere in Kuujjuaq on Nov. 11, with a Montreal screening planned for Nov. 30. The documentary includes interviews with the surviving signatories of the JBNQA, and was initiated as a way to document the region’s history for a younger generation.
