Photo: Nunavik mushers reach finish line

Tasiujaq mushers Willie Cain Jr. and Daniel Cain Annahatak take first place in the 2016 edition of Ivakkak, Nunavik’s annual dog sled race. The team arrived at the race’s finish line in Kuujjuaq earlier today, April 12, completing the race in 30 hours and 55 minutes. Twelve teams took part in this year’s race, which left Quaqtaq March 31 and headed down the Ungava coast through Kangirsuk, Aupaluk and Tasiujaq.
