A group of Peewee hockey players pose with Kuujjuaq hockey star David “Tivi” Dupuis (back row, in cap) who was honoured as a role model with the unveiling of a portrait banner at the Kuujjuaq Forum Sept. 17 (hanging behind Dupuis). Dupuis just completed a four-year National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) career with the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds in New York where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in management and business. In his final year, he served as the team’s assistant captain. The event was organized by Danny Fafard (back, second from left), the Village of Kuujjuaq’s head hockey instructor, who hopes to add more role model banners to form a Hall of Pride at the arena. Artist Jennifer La Page, (back, left) sold her artwork to fundraise money for the banners. (PHOTO BY ISABELLE DUBOIS)
