Photo: Nunavummiut take in the harvest moon

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Noel Kaludjak was one of many skygazers and photographers who enjoyed the lunar show late Sept. 27. That included a total lunar eclipse, which gave way to this blood moon — called that for its reddish hue — which Kaludjak snapped over Rankin Inlet. The red tint comes from filtered sunlight passing through the Earth's atmosphere. (PHOTO BY NOEL KALUDJAK)
