Photo: Nunavut candidates get down to business at BRCC forum

About 70 people, gathered at the youth centre in the Arctic Winter Games complex in Iqaluit Sept. 24, listen to candidates from the three major political parties answer questions submitted by the Iqaluit business community in advance of the Oct. 19 federal election. During the event, organized by the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce to coincide with the Nunavut Trade Show currently underway in Iqaluit, candidates traded barbs and stuck to party platforms. The event was described as a forum, not a debate, because candidates just answered questions and did not debate one another. From left to right, you can see incumbent MP Leona Aglukkaq for the Conservatives, Liberal candidate Hunter Tootoo and the New Democratic Party’s Jack Anawak.Read more on Nunatsiaqonline.ca.
