Photo: Nunavut dips into a deep freeze

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Most communities across Nunavut and parts of Nunavik are feeling the deep freeze this week, where temperatures with the wind chill factor will hover in the -40 to -50 C range. Environment Canada is forecasting bright sunshine in much of the southern Baffin and Kivalliq regions for today, but residents will have to bundle up to battle the chill. The cold helped to freeze up Frobisher Bay, pictured here, over the holiday season, where temperatures in the territory's capital are forecasted to drop to -48C today with the wind chill factor.
