Photo: Nunavut ed minister speaks to National Inuit Youth summit

The message from Nunavut’s education minister Paul Quassa at the Aug. 20 opening of the National Inuit Youth Summit in Iqaluit: literacy is the key to learning success. Youth from across the Inuit Nunangat are gathering at Inuksuk High School from Aug. 20 to Aug. 24 for the National Inuit Youth summit, which takes place every two years.
During the meeting, about 100 youth, from 15 to 30 years old, will take part in workshops and discussion groups, interact with youth from other regions and help develop the priorities of the National Inuit Youth Council. (PHOTO COURTESY OF ITK)
