Nunavut pop star Lucie Idlout shares a smile with Clyde River elder Attakaalik Palluq. Last month, Idlout volunteered for a Clyde River Inuktitut language immersion pilot project run by the non-profit Ilisaqsivik Society. The program is hoping to target Inuit who want to learn or strengthen their Inuktitut. Idlout, who lived with a Clyde River family who spoke to her solely in Inuktitut, spent her days reading, writing and speaking Inuktitut and sewing with an elders group earlier this year.
